OfCom changes of 08/09 calls services

Solution

From 1 July 2015, the regulator Ofcom has changed the way that 08/09 access numbers are charged for. Charges to 08 and 09 numbers will be split into:

1) a Service Charge which is charged by our call service provider

2) an Access charge which is a per minute charge by your phone provide e.g. BT, for connecting the call.

By adding together the access charge and the service charge, you’ll know exactly what the call will cost you. Please check with your phone provider for their access charge.

Access Charges - as at 11/10/2015

BT landline - 10.24ppm

Sky landline - 9.58ppm

EE Home Phone - 11ppm

TalkTalk - 5ppm

Virgin Media - 10.25ppm

Utility Warehouse landline - 9ppm

Mobile access charges are usually considerably more e.g. Vodafone 23p to 45p. Please check with your provider before making a call via our 08 access numbers.
